Spring has Sprung!

After some rough weeks fighting off sore throats and flu, I have finally lifted my head to sniff the spring air and discovered that there is a lot going on. World book day took place on Thursday 1st March (a very good excuse to buy myself a delicious book) and there are many writing competitions with deadlines which I will post at the end of this blog.

Also I’d like to congratulate all who were involved with our Christmas book of short stories ‘Dive into Stories’. It is a fabulous collection and was a complete sell out. We raised over €750 for the charity ‘Turn the Tide on Suicide’. I am very grateful for the support we received from families and friends.

EARLY BOOKING DISCOUNT DEAL ON SUMMER COURSES

My winter/Spring term is now underway and there is a new term of classes beginning after Easter (details on my website https://meganwynne.com/writingcourses/ ) I am offering an early booking deal, with a ten percent discount, before 16th March.

And for those of you making holiday plans, and interested in a children’s/teenage summer camp or a week long course for adults, my schedule is here: https://meganwynne.com/summer-camps/  There are early booking discounts available before 16th June.

But before all of those things happen, the first thing on my agenda is:

AN ADULT WRITING WORKSHOP

TOPIC: WRITING FOR CHILDREN

On Sunday 4TH March 2012, I am running an adult writing workshop on writing for children. This course will suit anyone who loves reading children’s fiction (especially for 8 – 12 year olds) and dreams of writing it too. I am very passionate about this genre. I  teach this age group and read for this age range as much as I can. It is one of the fastest growing areas in publishing at the moment.  The workshop takes place in Skerries Mills from 10.30a.m.-3p.m. and costs €45. The numbers are limited to twelve.

To book a place on this workshop, or on a summer camp or writing course, Paddy, in the Skerries bookshop is kindly collecting fees for me (or you can post me the amount if that suits you better). My address is Megan Wynne, 12 Rockabill Apartments, Skerries, County Dublin. Please include your mobile number and email address when you send the fee. Cheques should be made payable to Megan Wynne. I will confirm your place when I receive it.

So that’s it from me. Thank you very much for reading this. I hope you are well and haven’t fallen ill to bouts of flu and colds. The sun is shining today and I’m looking forward to a happy and healthy year for us, with lots of writing.

I hope to see you soon!
