My Creative Writing Courses suit children aged seven to twelve years old.

Children begin attending my classes from about eight years old (seven year-olds are welcome if they can write at least one half page independently). I teach children mad about stories, gifted children, children with learning disabilities, such as dyslexia and dysgraphia, and every type of child in-between.

Children’s weekly children’s classes take place in Skerries Mills, Malahide and Blackrock.

Term classes run in blocks from September until early June.

Many children attend classes term after term, year after year, building on what they have learned, exploring new material and expanding their knowledge and writing skills. After attending my writing classes for several terms, children tend do extremely well in English in secondary school.

My weekly classes can book up quickly. If a class is full and you would like to be put on a waiting list for the following term, please let me know and I will contact you when I am accepting new bookings.

My focus is on having fun, letting the creative side run free and teaching the many skills of writing fiction.

My students have had stories published and won national writing competitions. Most recently students have won the Listowel Writers’ Week Short Story Competition for Youth – (under 12) 2013 & 2014, and came 2nd in (under 9) 2014. They have also won The Dalkey Festival Four Forty Competition for children aged 9 -11 years 2013, Ireland’s Own Magazine Short Story Competition (Adult Beginners) 2012 and The Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Libraries Adult Short Story Competition 2012.
